The "Surf and Turf" from chef Kelly English
Harrah's Casino (777 Casino Center Drive, Maryland Heights; 314-770-8100) announced Tuesday that it has begun work to transform the
Range Steakhouse into
Kelly English Steakhouse. The eponymous
Kelly English is the owner and chef of
Restaurant Iris in Memphis, Tennessee; in 2009,
he was named a "Best New Chef" by Food & Wine.
English will be importing at least one dish from
the Restaurant Iris menu to the steak house: "Surf and Turf," a strip steak stuffed with blue cheese and fried oysters and then topped with both bordelaise and hollandaise sauces as well as fried sage.
Kelly English Steakhouse is slated for a late October opening. For more on what to expect, read
my interview with English from July of this year.
