Today on our way to Gut Check International Headquarters, we passed this chalkboard sign outside of Cicero's (6691 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-862-0009).
We couldn't agree more. Summer's grand and all, but we've soaked up our fair share of the good (swimming pools, barbecues, summer cocktails) and the bad (sunburns, sun allergies, heat advisories, float trips) of it. We need a break.
We're ready for pumpkin ale. We're craving cranberries, winter squash, sweet potatoes. And while we're sure that in four months we'll be cuddled up next to a radiator with two sweaters, three blankets and a cup of scorching hot tea begging for a few 90 degree days, right now, we're too sweaty to think of snuggling anything but the AC vent.
Help us pretend it's already autumn, and we'll help you cool off with some free frozen custard from Eugene's Custard Company (1138 Town and Country Crossings Drive, Town & Country; 636-227-7300).
Rules: Just tell us what cold weather food or beverage you can't wait to enjoy again in a comment at the bottom of this post. Don't forget to include your e-mail address, facebook profile url or twitter handle. We'll choose three winners.
Update: [Thursday, 8.25 4:42 p.m.] Congrats to Sara, Mike and Megan!
