I reported last month that
Lampert's Plush Pig Barbeque had closed
its Clayton location at least temporarily so that asbestos could be removed from its building. Following up today as I put together the list of January openings and closings -- to be posted in a few hours -- I learned from
the Plush Pig's website that restaurant is either moving to or opening a new location in Rock Hill. In fact, right now, the only active information on that website is the news that the restaurant will opening soon at the corner of
Manchester and McKnight Roads.
The phone number of the Clayton location, which was still active when I reported on the asbestos closure, is now disconnected, suggesting that this is a relocation rather than a new location. I drove through the shopping strips at that intersection, looking for any "coming soon" signage, without success. Interestingly, whichever corner the Plush Pig occupies, it will be very close to a
Bandana's Bar-B-Q location.
