FoodWire: Restaurant Tidbits from Kevin Willmann, Grand Center

My Christmas gift to you, dear readers? (Besides, of course, the unending cavalcade of joy that is the Year-End Bonanza.) Restaurant news! Yes, our friends around town have reported several tidbits in recent days.

George Mahe scores the big scoop at Feast: RFT Best Local Chef 2008 Kevin Willmann is leaving Erato on Main in Edwardsville to open Farmhaus at 3257 Ivanhoe Avenue, the former home of Cafe Ivanhoe, KoKo and (ever so briefly) Bistro Toi.

On the Sauce Magazine blog, Bryan Hollerbach reports that Kota Wood Fire Grill will open at 522 North Grand Boulevard, most recently the home of Reggie's Backstage and, before that, one of the decade's great restaurant disasters, the Tuxedo Room. Hollerbach also notes that the restaurant at the Missouri History Museum is changing caterers and names, from Meriwether's to Bixby's.

Finally, Joe Bonwich of the Post-Dispatch was (I believe) the first to report earlier this month that the former Crepes in the City space at 500 North 14th Street would become Lola. I received an email just today announcing that Lola will have its grand opening on Saturday, January 9. Learn more about the new restaurant at its website.
