Frida's Deli Opens in University City

St. Louis diners seeking vegetarian and vegan options have a new destination: Frida's Deli opened today at 622 North and South Road in University City. The restaurant is open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. You can reach the restaurant at 314-727-6500, via its Facebook page and through its website.

Owner Natasha Kwan presents a menu featuring such dishes as a "steak" sandwich made with seitan and a "BLT" made with tempeh bacon as well as soups, salads, juices and smoothies.

Kwan has also posted a series of how-to videos on the restaurant's YouTube channel. Here she is demonstrating how to cut a mango.
