Gut Check has always been a big fan of La Dolce Via. In June we reported on owner Marcia Sindel needing surgery for benign nodes on her vocal cords and the muscles and tendons of her forearm.
I spoke today with Carly Main, Sindel's daughter and vice president of La Dolce Via. She told me her mother is doing great. She's between surgeries now and "reasonably healthy."
On Monday, August 20, La Dolce Via will host "Marcia's Surgery Festival," a silent auction, from 6-10 p.m. in the loft at Llywelyn's Pub (4747 McPherson Avenue). Auction items include work by local artists and all kinds of goodies from local merchants. You can enter a raffle for $200 with a $20 donation at the door. All proceeds will benefit Sindel's medical expenses.
