Guy Fieri is in St. Louis as we speak to film segments for his hit Food Network program Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. A tipster told me last week that Anthonino's Taverna (2225 Macklind Road; 314-773-4455) would be one of the local restaurants featured.
My message to the Scutaro brothers, who own Anthonino's, wasn't returned, but that's moot now: At this very moment the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives crew is at Anthonino's filming.
There was no sign of the spiky-haired one at Anthonino's when I stopped by this morning, but I did see a couple of film crewmembers outside the restaurant, and a sign on the door informs that the restaurant is closed until 4 p.m. for filming. There is also a notice of filming that mentions Diners, Drive-ins and Dives specifically. So if you're a fan of the show, and have always wanted to stalk Fieri, today might be your chance.
According to the Anthonino's Facebook page, the restaurant will also be closed Monday, June 11, until 6 p.m., so you can try again then.
Where else is Fieri and crew filming this weekend? If you've heard anything -- or happen to see them -- let us know!
