Hooked Opens in University City

Hooked, the new seafood restaurant from the folks who brought us Pho Long, is now open at 8613 Olive Boulevard in University City. As Gut Check learned when we previewed Hooked last month, the restaurant has been ready to go for a while but still awaited the approval of its liquor license.

One of Gut Check's trusted operatives dropped off a copy of Hooked's menu, which offers several seafood salads (shrimp, crab claw, fish of the day), calamari, skewered and coconut shrimp, and a crab cake.

Entrées include scallops, calamari, shrimp and salmon -- no further description is given on the menu-- each served with your choice of mixed vegetables, seasoned rice or French fries. There are three seafood pastas (shrimp, clam and a combination) and six po' boy sandwiches, beef brisket and fried oyster among them.

According to Hooked's Facebook page, the restaurant is open Monday and Wednesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and for dinner 4:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m. It is open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday and closed Tuesday.

My attempts to reach the restaurant to confirm its posted hours have yet to be successful, so you might want to call first (314-997-8886) before visiting.
