Venerable American institution Hooters named its Girl of the Year this week, and right here in St. Louis to boot. Naturally, we were on hand to witness this important culinary award. Unfortunately, winner Jenell Hendrix isn't from the Gateway to the West, but we showed her a good time all the same.

Hendrix was chosen out of 30,000 Hooters Girls from around the world as the woman who exemplified everything a Hooters Girl should be: "an impeccable image, excellent hospitality skills and great attitude and personality." She thought she was attending divisional training meeting, but instead, Hendrix was presented with the Girl of the Year title, a cake and a $4,000 cash prize.
We'd also like to take this opportunity to point out the time in the not-so-distant past when we reviewed this same Hooters when it got an updated menu. Some things never change, though -- for better or for worse, Hooters is still all about the ladies.
Hendrix works at the Hooters in Champaign, Illinois, and has represented it multiple times in the Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant. She was voted Miss Congeniality in 2012. Congrats, Jenell!
