As Lucas and Derek Gamlin gear up to unveil the new Gamlin Whiskey House and Taha's Twisted Tiki, they've named Ivy Magruder as corporate executive chef for the Gamlin Restaurant Group, which also owns Sub Zero Vodka Bar (308 North Euclid Avenue; 314-367-1200). The Gamlins put out a press release Friday announcing Magruder's hire.

Magruder opened Vin de Set (2017 Chouteau Avenue; 314-241-8989) as executive chef ten years ago and later became general manager. In a statement, owners Paul and Wendy Hamilton said Magruder left on very good terms.

"Ivy is a true hospitality professional and will remain a very close friend. We have always treated all our team members like family and Ivy is as close as it gets," they said. Karen Caputa will take over as general manager while Ryan Buettner remains executive chef at Vin de Set.

As for the Gamlins' growning holdings, Magruder will manage the culinary teams at all three restaurants as well as devise food and cocktail pairings. "The ability to continue building upon the strong foundation at Sub Zero Vodka Bar, and to be a part of the excitement behind Gamlin Whiskey House and Taha's Twisted Tiki is an exciting adventure," Magruder said in a statement.

"For more than a decade, St. Louisans have admired Ivy's unique style. We are excited to bring this style to the Gamlin Restaurant Group," the Gamlins said. Last we heard, Gamlin Whiskey House was set to open by the end of the month -- we'll update you if that is no longer the case.
