Update: (Friday, July 20, 10:25 a.m.) Josh Galliano has revealed the location of his pop-up restaurant: All-Star Fried Chicken & Fish will open at 5 p.m. on Monday, August 13, at Half & Half (8135 Maryland Avenue, Clayton; 314-725-0719). The restaurant will remain open until 10 p.m. or until the food runs out. (Based on the buzz already building about this event, I'd bet on the latter.) There will be no reservations, but you can get take-out.

Where will you be on Monday, August 13? If you're one of the many St. Louis diners who have longed for the cooking of Josh Galliano since Monarch (7401 Manchester Road, Maplewood) shuttered in March, you'll be at an as-yet undisclosed location, preparing to chow down on fried chicken.
Galliano announced via Twitter this morning that he will open a one-day pop-up fried-chicken restaurant on Monday, August 13. Galliano promises more details to come. Follow Galliano's Twitter account if you want to be among the first to know and camp out at the location.
A pop-up restaurant, if you have a life and don't follow every new food trend, is a temporary restaurant in which an established chef might experiment with a new concept or, as in the case of French Laundry and Per Se chef Thomas Keller, bring his food to, say, London.
