As if you needed another excuse to eat fried chicken, chef John Perkins of Juniper (360 North Boyle Avenue; 314-329-7696) has dreamed up the Tour de Poulet. It's a program for the month of August that spotlights some of the best fried chicken dishes in the city. Plus, there's something in it for you if you hit all of them.

"It's pretty cool. Home Wine Kitchen, Juniper, Element, Farmhaus, Quincy Street, Cleveland Heath and Three Flags are all working together on this," Home Wine Kitchen's Cassy Vires tells us. "You get a passport with details on each restaurant's particular fried chicken. If you complete the tour, you can then return to all of the restaurants for a complimentary treat. We are all doing something a bit different to keep it fun."

Vires says she, Perkins and Three Flags already had pretty straightforward fried-chicken dishes, but some of the restaurants are creating plates just for the Tour de Poulet. She won't spill what the treats are if you complete the passport, but we guess there's only one way to find out. We're going to have to get our fried chicken on.
