If you're a chocoholic, Clayton just got a little sweeter. The new Kakao Chocolate is now open. It's the third location for the St. Louis chocolatier, which first opened on South Jefferson Avenue in 2008 and later expanded to Maplewood. The new Kakao is located in the Centene building at 7700 Forsyth along with Niche and Pastaria.

"We're really excited to be in the same place as two of the best restaurants in Missouri with Gerard Craft," owner Brian Pelletier told us in March. "It's just the right time. I didn't have a plan when I first opened -- I just wanted to open a shop and make chocolate."
The new location is the only one that'll sell coffee and espresso drinks, and it's retail only, meaning the chocolate isn't actually made in Clayton (just at the other two shops). Kakao sold coffee when it first opened, but Pelletier eventually decided to focus on the sweets.
