Kevin Willmann Debuts Farmhaus Today (Friday, 3.5) [Updated: Now an Open House]

Farmhaus, the new venture from chef Kevin Willmann, will be open for lunch at 11 a.m. today (Friday, March 5). The restaurant is located at 3257 Ivanhoe Avenue, the Lindenwood Park address formerly occupied by several restaurants, including KoKo and the short-lived Bistro Toi.

For now, the restaurant is serving lunch only. According to its Twitter feed, today's "Blue Plate Special" lunch will include fried fluke, smoked chicken, red beans and rice and mashed potatoes. Important note: Today's service is cash-only.

For those unfamiliar with Willmann, he most recently ran the (tiny) kitchen at Erato on Main in Edwardsville, Illinois. There he gained quite a following, and in 2008 RFT named him Best Local Chef. In other words, expect a crowd: Farmhaus might be the most anticipated new restaurant of 2010.
