Long-time fans mourned Lemmons (5800 Gravois Avenue) when it closed and even began a social-media campaign to save it, but owner Michael Gross didn't want to run the business anymore. It turns out that the space has just been sold to the Grbic family, which owns Bosnian restaurant Grbic (4071 Keokuk Street; 314-772-3100).

It's unclear what will become of Lemmons -- whether it will become a full-time restaurant or keep the tradition of a pizza joint/music venue/bar. The Grbics did not immediately respond to voicemails for comment, but we'll update when we know more.

Grbic is well-known in St. Louis; we've named it the best Bosnian restaurant in St. Louis several times.

Manor Real Estate confirmed that the Grbic family plans to lease out the space. "If anyone has an interest in leasing the building and continuing the Lemmons name, certainly the opportunity would be there for them to do so," Manor House agent Ben Cherry tells us.

Here's what we know from a press release from the realtor:

The property consists of 7,596 Feet and was vacant at the time of the purchase which included all of the furniture, fixtures and equipment. The property was purchased for $255,000 ($33.57/S.F.) which represents 93% of the Listed Price.

The Seller of the property was Thornco, LLC and the Buyers were Sulejman Grbic, Ermina Grbic and Ermic Grbic who were represented by Janez Kanlic of Realty Team in the transaction.

"Although it was saddening to close the restaurant, we are very pleased with the results of the sale and the hard work of Manor Real Estate." says Mike Gross, former owner of Lemmons. "We are glad to see that someone will be breathing new life into the building. Their plans for the building at this time are undetermined."
