Maplewood Farmers' Market Opens for Season at 4 p.m. Today

The Maplewood Farmers' Market -- the RFT's Best Farmers' Market for 2009 -- opens for the season this afternoon at 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Schlafly Bottleworks (7260 Southwest Avenue; 314-241-2337). If this year continues the remarkable growth in popularity that this market has seen over the past couple of years, then take my advice: Go early -- not only for the best produce, but also to improve your chances of finding a parking space! -- and be prepared to wait in line. The market runs till 7 p.m. and is held every Wednesday.
