If you want your Winslow's Home weekend brunch seasoned with a grin and wave from manager Mark Thompson, you missed your chance. Yesterday was his last day with the company.
Thompson's been with the restaurant and farm since its inception in 2007, when he started working on the farm and helping with the building rehab and kitchen design.
After more than 30 years in the restaurant business, Thompson plans to stick with it. He's already fielding offers, but first he's taking a short break. "I'm going to take some time off and rethink some things," he said during a Friday-afternoon phone conversation.
"There are no hard feelings," he continued. "My thing is, I come in and help people get going, and I want people to succeed. This has been a great experience."
His departure is a business decision, part of what looks to be a series of changes for the business. Owner Ann Lipton says she will provide details as they're available.
