Cardinals fans (and really, all sports fans) know they're going to get overcharged for food and drinks at a game. We tend to complain about it a lot, but it's just one of those things -- if you want a beer at Busch Stadium (Broadway & Poplar Street; 314-345-9000), you're going to have to pay for it. Last year, our prices in general were still above the MLB average; this year, it seems only the Boston Red Sox have more expensive beer. Yikes!

Team Marketing Report's Fan Cost Index just released rankings for the price of beer per ounce at MLB games. The Cardinals come in at No. 2, with the average beer costing $0.56 an ounce. The most expensive beer on average can be found in Boston, with a beer to watch the Red Sox running you $0.60 per ounce.

NextSTL pointed out, rather optimistically, that perhaps it's because of all the specialty beer available at Busch. However, a regular draft beer (like Bud Light) is $9, and a regular Schlafly draft is only $7.50.

The Cubs charge $0.45 per ounce, and the Royals only $0.41. What do you think -- is it time they lower the prices at Busch Stadium? Or is that just wishful thinking? Check out the full list of MLB teams here:
