Italian-style bakery and cafe Piccione Pastry (6197 Delmar Boulevard; 314-932-1355) is now serving brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. 1 p.m. The menu additions came a few weeks ago, but they have proven so popular, Piccione has added seasonal items as well as vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Brunch items include Piccione's eggs benedict, made with a poached egg with crispy pancetta on a citrus risotto cake, topped with hollandaise sauce, a proscuitto and garlic spinach frittata and ricotta pancakes. Vegetarian and gluten-free benedict dishes are also available.

One of Piccione's newest items is the breakfast risotto: milk-based risotto with brown sugar, cinnamon and allspice. You can add granola, candied almonds, dried fruit or apple-cranberry chutney. The risotto is only available on a special basis, so check Piccione's social media accounts for up-to-the-minute info.
