Gut Check tells you what's new and tasty at our favorite restaurants.
Listen up, dudes. This weekend Pint Size Bakery & Coffee (3825 Watson Road; 314-645-7142) has a dessert for you.
"We have our 'Man-tastic Dessert,'" says owner and "punk-rock grandma" baker (as her husband has dubbed her) Christy Augustin.
"They're fantastic, but they're also man-tastic," she explains. "Mens be liking them."

And what, pray tell, is this 'Man-tastic Dessert,' which August first developed when she was the pastry chef at Sidney Street Café?
It's an oatmeal-stout cake featuring oats (duh), Kaldi's coffee stout, dulce de leche and almonds. Yes, ladies, you'll enjoy it, too.
"We started doing layer cakes on the weekend, too," Augustin adds. This weekend, the bakery is featuring a carrot layer cake.
Pint Size is also offering shamrock cookies for St. Patrick's Day and, as always on the weekend, salted-caramel croissants.
