The St. Charles outpost of West Winery, Rack House West (5065 North Highway N, Cottleville; 636-244-0574), opens this Saturday, August 2, with a grand opening August 8. You'll have the opportunity to sample the wines and the menu of appetizers, small plates, flatbreads and paninis.

Owners Bridgette and John Hamilton were fans and frequent patrons of the West Winery in Macon, Kirksville and Hannibal. The couple decided to wholesale wine from West's Chris West, but there is a wine-making area at Rack West as well.
"We want it to be something fun and interactive so people can come in and enjoy it," Bridgette Hamilton told us in May. Facebook friends can stop by Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. Show your server your Facebook check-in to score a 10 percent discount. The grand opening is next Friday, August 8.
