Despite how pleasant it's been the past few days, the temperature is slowly but surely rising and we are reminded that yes, it is still August -- the best time to have National Lemonade Day! But instead of slamming on the brakes when you see some random little kids selling lemonade and digging change out of your car seats, head to Red Robin today instead.

Six St. Louis locations will be collecting donations for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation today as well as giving out free samples of the restaurant's signature Freckled Lemonade -- that's strawberries and Minute Maid. Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation is a non-profit founded by a four-year-old cancer patient, Alex Scott, who started her own front-yard stand to help find a cure for cancer. Though Scott died in 2004, the foundation and her family still work to fund cancer research.

You can get Freckled Lemonade or donate (or both!) at Red Robin Chesterfield (17308 Chesterfield Airport Road; 636-733-0066), St. Peters (317 Mid Rivers Mall Drive; 636-279-6622), Fenton (130 Gravois Bluffs Circle; 636-305-9440), St. Charles (1440 Mexico Loop Road; 636-281-0383), Des Peres (13001 Manchester Road; 314-821-6400) and O'Fallon (7821 State Highway N; 636-625-1360).
