George Mahe just broke the news on Feast (the one that already exists, not the still-in-development magazine): Hanley's Grille & Tap at West County Center in Des Peres has closed. This follows the departure a few months ago of Jeff Constance as executive chef. The Fairview Heights location remains open.

Mahe correctly points out that Hanley's faced competition from other newish restaurants at West County Center, including the higher-end chains McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and Bravo! Cucina Italiana.

I would add only that Hanley's also had location working against it. Unlike the aforementioned restaurants, which face each other across a courtyard that looks like a proper entrance to the mall, Hanley's was tucked into a weird little back corner that shoppers could easily avoid.
