Restaurant Workers, What's It Like to Work a Holiday?

Apr 30, 2010 at 11:46 am
Mother's Day is a week from Sunday, which means grudgingly dutiful loving adult children everywhere are scrambling to make brunch or dinner reservations for one of the -- if not the -- biggest restaurant days of the year.

But what's it like to work as a chef, line cook, server, etc. on Mother's Day, New Year's Eve or one of the other holidays that restaurant workers rarely enjoy?

Gut Check has no idea, which is why we'd love to hear from you, industry professionals.

Email us your horror (or not) stories with "Holiday Restaurant Story" as the subject. We'll print the most amusing/terrifying -- with name and restaurant redacted, naturally.
