In recent weeks rapper Rick Ross has made headlines for his controversial verse in rapper Rocko's song "U.E.O.N.O.," with lyrics that describe date rape. Last week Reebok dropped Ross' contract, and he made a public apology for the lyrics.
And now Ross is in the news again for eyebrow-raising song lyrics, though the subject matter is much less knotty -- and much more food blog-friendly.
It's called "Panera Bread."

Yep, it's a nod to our city's very own Saint Louis Bread Co., known outside of St. Louis as Panera Bread. The song is a single off rapper Rockie Fresh's new mixtape, The Birthday Tape, produced by Lunice. It drops this week, but "Panera Bread" debuted late last week.
Lyrics include:
"Flippin falcons got my house bigger than Atlanta/Panamera cherry red, Panera Bread."
Translation: Selling drugs got him a big house, a cherry red Porsche Panamera and a lot of money, or "bread."
"Every day I'm goin' hard and I'm stayin' prepared/Got that broccoli-cheddar soup with that Panera Bread."
If you've never thought of Panera's classic broccoli-cheddar soup as "so paid," you're not seeing the world through Rick Ross' diamond-encrusted sunglasses lenses. Just as "bread" refers to money on Panera Bread's first mention, so do "broccoli" and "cheddar."
We don't know about you, but we'll never look at a bowl of broccoli-cheddar soup at Panera the same way again.
