Friday, May 11, Dante's (3221 Olive Street; 314-652-2369) will play host to the third annual Salsa Con Salsa event to promote the San Luis Potosi Mexico-St. Louis Friendship Committee.

The night is a dance and dip celebration that invites participants to learn how to salsa while sampling delicious salsas from eleven local restaurants including Taqueria El Bronco, El Torito, Garduños, Latino Americana, Burrito Loco, Pueblo Solis, Tower Taco, La Vallesana, Chimichanga's, Iguanas and La Tropical. Each restaurant will bring one of its specialty salsas to be entered in the "Best Salsa" contest.

The winner will be decided through a blind vote: Each salsa will be marked with numbers instead of restaurant names, and each participant will receive a blank piece of paper to vote for their favorite. The voting goes on all night, so if you show up early, you'll get plenty of chances to go back for seconds and thirds of each tasty salsa blend. What goes better with dancing than a bunch of chips and dip?

Salsa Con Salsa kicks off at 9 p.m. with free salsa lessons and continues till closing time at 1:30 a.m. The competition winner will be announced between midnight and 1 a.m. Event organizers expect around 250 to 300 participants in this year's salsa tasting and voting, so don't miss out on eleven of St. Louis' best salsas all in one place! Guests are encouraged to dance, eat and stick around for a fun and tasty night.
