If you've grown weary of waiting for the Shake Shack to finally open that St. Louis location already, have patience — the end is in sight. In fact, Shake Shack is offering a sneak peek at its offerings this very month.

On Saturday, October 28, St. Louis native Danny Meyer's burger joint will be popping up at Porano Pasta (634 Washington Avenue) in celebration of its upcoming arrival in the Central West End.

RSVPs are required, but "do not guarantee entry," per the official invite. Sign up online to get a taste of the action.

And if you're hungry for a ShackBurger but can't make it that Saturday, have no fear. Shake Shack, which promised a year and a half ago only that it would have a "2017" opening date, seems likely to make good on that promise. The company assured KMOV as recently as August that it was still on pace to open this year.

This pop-up, certainly, seems like a great sign. Beyond the verbiage on the website ("to celebrate Shake Shack's arrival"), there's the fact of the timing. Why whet our already-desperate appetites unless they plan to open the real deal soon?
