Siete Luminarias (2818 Cherokee Street), one of the best Mexican restaurants in town, has closed after only around two years. Owned by brothers Luis and Ramon Garcia, Siete Luminarias wasn't exactly traditional, but was pretty authentic -- no Tex Mex here.

Ian Froeb of the Post Dispatch reported the closure Friday, though the restaurant posted the unfortunate news on social media a few days earlier.
Luis Garcia tells Gut Check that they have sold Siete Lumniarias to a new owner and it will be reopening in a few weeks with the same name, same menu and same recipes.
"We just had a little bit of issues with me and my partner," Garcia says, though he would not elaborate. He is planning to move back to Texas with his wife.
