River City Casino is gearing up to debut the 1904 Steak House in the space vacated last year by Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse. Gut Check is sending an operative to attend a media preview of the new menu tomorrow night, but you can preview that menu (link PDF) now on the casino website.

The website promises "a decadent menu that will overwhelm your taste-buds and transport you to the early 20th century." In truth, the menu appears to offer standard steakhouse fare -- and not much different from the Ruby's menu, either.

There are three prime, dry-aged steaks: a filet mignon, Kansas City strip and porterhouse. There are also four "signature cuts." The menu doesn't make clear whether these are also prime and/or dry-aged, though the fact that they aren't listed with the other three suggests not. The steaks are cooked in a 1600-degree broiler with a "signature spice blend."

There is a surf and turf dish as well as non-steak main courses (e.g., veal, swordfish, roast chicken). Sides are the usual steakhouse suspects: various potato dishes, creamed spinach.

Watch for our "First Look" at the menu later this week.
