St. Louis Pho (3863 South Grand Boulevard; 314-664-4041) is closed temporarily, according to a sign on its front door. The sign indicates that the Vietnamese restaurant will reopen on Monday, April 15, under new management. St. Louis Pho's phone number remains connected but went unanswered when I called early yesterday afternoon. The domain name of the restaurant's website has expired.
St. Louis Pho opened in late 2011 inside a former Burger King just south of Chippewa Street. I enjoyed my review visits there quite a bit and included a bowl of its namesake dish among my top ten dishes of 2012.
More on the changes there as we learn it.
Meanwhile, another Vietnamese restaurant looks set to open across the street. Signs at 3924 South Grand announce that Hong An Bun Bo Hue Restaurant is coming soon. The location, originally an Arby's, was previously the home of the very short-lived Vietnamese restaurant Noodle House.
Bun bo Hue is a traditional Vietnamese noodle soup that takes its name from the country's former capital of Hue. According to the Missouri Secretary of State's records, Hong An Bun Bo Hue Restaurant is registered to a Minnie Nga Pham. More on the new restaurant as we learn it.
