Team Fieri Slams City Pages Article

Yesterday, we told you about the profile of television producer David Page in our Twin Cities sister paper City Pages. Page, who created the smash-hit Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, made several sensational claims about Guy Fieri, including that the spiky-haired star styles himself a mafia don and has made homophobic comments.

Fieri, his representatives and the Food Network all refused to speak to author Gregory Pratt, but today his representatives have released a statement:

Guy's reputation speaks for itself. He's a standup guy who does right by people. He would never make the kind of comments attributed to him in this story, and anyone who knows or has even met him knows that. That Mr. Page made these sadly desperate statements says more about him than it does about Guy or anyone on the Food Network team.
Eater also cites an anonymous source who accuses Page of "fabrications" and calls the idea that Fieri is homophobic "outlandish."

I suspect we haven't heard the last word on this.
