Happy birthday to Ted Drewes, a St. Louis classic.
Any reason to eat Ted Drewes is a good reason. And today you have a built-in excuse to forget about your diet and indulge in some creamy frozen custard. If you’re a good St. Louisan, it’s practically required.
Today our favorite south city institution is throwing a party in celebration of its 90th year in business. That’s right: Ted Drewes was born in 1929, the same year as Anne Frank, Audrey Hepburn and Martin Luther King Jr. It’s been nearly a century since the St. Louis classic was born, and they’re doing it up right.
To celebrate, Ted Drewes is throwing a shindig at its Chippewa location
(6726 Chippewa Street, 314-481-2652) from 1 p.m. through 5 p.m. today. It will include local celebrities, live music, classic cars, family-friendly activities and more. Details are available at the
Facebook event page.
So scoop up the kids after school and ruin their dinner by taking them out for a classic St. Louis treat. All of the best family memories get made at Ted Drewes.
