Ten Best Food Events This Weekend: July 13-15

Friday (July 13):

Food Truck Friday @ Tower Grove Park (southwest side) Grab multiple bites to eat from a bevy of food trucks including Hot Aztec, The Cheese Shack, Holy Crepe and many more. Schlafly and Six Row Brewing Company stand by with their signature brews. Admission is free. 5 to 8 p.m.

Let Them Eat Art @ Downtown Maplewood Festival-goers get to choose from offerings from more than a dozen area restaurants, bars and wineries such as The Crow's Nest and Saint Louis Cellars. Entertainment includes live music, a film screening, hoop dance performances and more. Admission is free. 6 to 11 p.m.

Speyside Single Malts @ The Wine Merchant Ltd. Sample six of the finest examples of Speyside Single Malts during this interactive class. $40 per person. Call 314-863-6282 for details and registration. 6 p.m.

Outdoor Film Series: The Birds @ Saint Louis Art Museum This July film series goes into its second week with Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. Show up early to grab some grub from food trucks including The Sweet Divine, Zia's, and My Big Fat Greek Truck. Admission is free. 7 p.m.; movie starts at 9 p.m.

Purus and Popcorn @ Brennan's Catch a freaky free viewing of Friday the 13th and stick around for DJ Luxxter. The event is free, but $20 pays for all-you-can-drink Purus vodka. 9 p.m.

Saturday (July 14):

Bastille My Heart @ Kitchen Conservatory Chef Jean-Pierre Augé demonstrates a meal in celebration of Bastille Day that includes French pizza topped with artichokes, grilled chicken Americaine with fried plaintains, tomatoes Provençal and more. $45 per person. Honey Harvest and Bee Banquet @ Jackson-Mills City Bees Bring a dish along with a serving utensil for a potluck and watch as Scott Jackson and Shane Mills harvest honey from their city beehives, offered regularly at Maude's Market. Free. Call 314-353-4219 to register. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
