Start with select martini and beer specials set to a villainous theme at Absolutli Goosed, drop sake bombs at Sekisui in a setting dedicated to the Super Mario Brothers, and sip on "Malibu Boo" punch amongst sultans and belly dancers at Cafe Natasha. Great Godfrey Corn Maze @ Robert E. Glazebrook Park Navigate seven acres of a corn labyrinth during this annual tradition of fall fun. General admission is $4 to $6; kids aged five years and younger get in for free. Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 26 from dusk to 10 p.m.

First Anniversary Party @ Perennial Artisan Ales The early part of the event features Halloween activities for kids, with plenty of live music, free beer-related demonstrations, and barbecue from Pappy's Smokehouse to go around for the remainder of the celebration. Look for Perennial's "Aria," a Belgian-style ale, among limited releases such as "Black Walnut Dunkel," "Savant Beersel" and "2011 Abraxas." Admission is free. Noon to 11 p.m.
Fresh Hop Beer Festival @ Schlafly Bottleworks Fresh, wet hops from Washington State get used by a number of area breweries in this unique competition. Admission is $25 per person. Noon to 4 p.m.
Spooky Halloween House @ Kitchen Conservatory Use an assortment of candies and decorations to create ghosts, bats, owls, tombstones and more in this hands-on all-ages class. $45 per person. Register online via the Kitchen Conservatory website. Noon to 2:30 p.m.
Grass-fed Beef Chili Cook Off @ Whole Foods Market - Town and Country Sample chili entries from Whole Foods team members and cast a vote to help declare a winner. Free. 1 to 4 p.m.
Great Pumpkin Carve and Glow @ Moonrise Hotel Head to the Moonrise Hotel courtyard to dress up pumpkins with basic carving tools and decorations -- all free of charge. Apple Butter Festival @ Kimmswick Hundreds of vendors fill the city of Kimmswick with a variety of craft and food items, including apple butter from the Kimmswick Historical Society. Saturday, Oct. 27 and Sunday Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sloup #28 @ 3407 California Avenue For those unfamiliar with Sloup, simply show up, pay for a bowl of soup to enjoy and vote on a local art proposal from a packet of submissions. The winner gets the pot, and everyone leaves with a belly full of warm eats and good intentions. For this month's installation, Carniceria Latino Americana partners with the monthly arts initiative, throwing Mexican chili, snacks, drinks and pinatas into the saucy mix. Somewhere in the ballpark of $10 buys the right to eat and vote. 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
