Thai Pizza Co. (608 Eastgate Avenue; 314-862-4429) has closed temporarily for renovations, according to signs posted on its front door and windows. The restaurant is one of four Thai establishments in the Delmar Loop owned by Supatana "Pat" Prapaisilapa, along with Thai Cafe (6170 Delmar Boulevard; 314-862-6868), Thai Gai Yang Cafe (6250 Delmar Boulevard; 314-862-4400) and Thai Country Cafe (6223 Delmar Boulevard; 314-862-0787). Attempts to reach Prapaisilapa this morning were unsuccessful.
Though the "closed for renovations" sign always raises eyebrows, this wouldn't be the first time that Thai Pizza Co. has done so. The restaurant closed in 2006 for a renovation that roughly doubled its size.
(That closure date is to the best of our memory; however, Thai Pizza Co. definitely reopened from that renovation in January 2007.)
