We've said it before, and we'll say it again: Instagram was practically made for pictures of food. Gut Check has rounded up our favorite foodie accounts in St. Louis, but there are so many cool photos every week, we wanted to share what St. Louis' best chefs, bartenders and eaters are Instagramming. 1. Whisk Bakeshop at the new Kitchen House Coffee
Whisk is supplying baked goods for the new urban-farm-cum-coffee-house in Tower Grove East, which opens September 15.
2. Monday Meat & Three at Juniper
Juniper is now open on Monday nights from 5 to 10 p.m., with a special prix-fixe menu that changes every week. The September 8 debut featured fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn on the cob and buttermilk biscuits -- basically the most perfect meal ever.
3. Strange Donuts and Portugal the Man at LouFest
Strange Donuts was one of the vendors at LouFest this year, and it hooked up with musician Portugal the Man, who tweeted that it was his favorite thing about the festival.
4. La Patisserie Chouquette's wedding cake at the World's Fair Pavilion
Couture wedding cakes are one of Chouquette's specialties, and it was a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding at one of Forest Park's most popular spots.
5. Twerking at Five Bistro
Now we know why the food at Five Bistro is so good -- all that kitchen twerking. Props to Five's Kevin Pellegrino.
6. Watermelon salad at Home Wine Kitchen
Cassy Vires' watermelon salad looks and sounds like the perfect end-of-summer dish. It was for a special event, but we really need some. Now.
7. Pastrami-cured salmon by Rick Lewis
Quincy Street Bistro chef and James Beard Award nominee Rick Lewis has won over St. Louis with dishes like this. Delicious, not too fussy and decidedly beautiful.
8. Pumpkin roulade at Pint Size Bakery
If Home Wine Kitchen's watermelon salad is evocative of summer, Pint Size's pumpkin roulade makes our mouth water with thoughts of fall goodies. We'll pass on the pumpkin spice latte for this creation any day.
9. Pig brain at Five Bistro" target="_blank">Five Bistro
Five Bistro chef Anthony Devoti's Instagram game is on point. This little pig brain is macabre, but you just know he made something awesome out of it.
10. Whiskey and Soba visits Scape
Whiskey and Soba is one of our favorite local food blogs, and this picture is just perfect.
