Guys, this week isn't going to be that bad: On a scale of 1 to Snowpocolypse, it's only like a 5. So let's eat! Check out the restaurants in the Stadium District, learn about the cheese of Italy or kick off Centennial Beer Week. Continue on for our food-related recommendations.
Monday (Feb. 23):
Explore the restaurants that the Stadium District has to offer with this Restaurant Week promotion. Ballpark Village has not yet released a list of participating restaurants, but it will be offering special prix fixe menus for lunch and dinner beginning Monday and ending Sunday, March 1. Admission is free, and food is available for purchase. Click here for more info.
Nerdy girls like their beer with a side of learning, please. This month's focus is on romance novelists, so you'll learn about their books, processes and more. You'll be discussing books by Angie Fox, Jeannie Lin and Shawntelle Madison. Bring a book to swap with other readers. From 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is free, with food and drink available for purchase. You can find more info here.
Tuesday (Feb. 24):
For the year's second cheese-demonstration event, Whole Food will focus on the cheeses of Italy. Taste parmigiano reggiano and others, and learn how to select cheeses for your palate, plus how to pair cheeses with drinks. From 6 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Wednesday (Feb. 25):
Tony's executive chef Gerard Germain and his wife Theresa will be creating a meal worthy of one of the most respected restaurants in St. Louis. You'll have eggplant parmesan, a trio of veal with cheesy risotto and bananas foster. From 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 per person, available here.
Thursday (Feb. 26):
Kick off the seventh annual St. Louis Centennial Beer Festival with a five-course dinner hosted by 2nd Shift Brewing. Brewmaster Steve Crider worked with Moulin executive chef Ryan Luke to create beer pairings with each course. From 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $69 each, available here.
