Restaurants and bars are packing in the events before the holidays, and this week's no exception. Check out St. Louis Eats at the Missouri History Museum, stop by the opening of Cantina Laredo or support cannabis at Tick Tock Tavern. Continue on for our picks of the week.

Monday (Nov. 17):

Culinary & Cocktails for Cannabis @ Tick Tock Tavern

Come have a drink for cannabis reform in Missouri. Stop by Tick Tock Tavern and Steve's Hot Dogs in south city between 7 and 9 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local activist group Show-Me Cannabis. Admission is free.

Cucina Revista & Terra Madre @ Schlafly Bottleworks

It's SloWednesday on a Monday! Stop by Schlafly to watch Cucina Revista, a 30-minute film that takes viewers on a culinary tour of Italian small towns. Afterwards, Slow Food St. Louis board membersBrian DeSmet, Josh Galliano, Brian Pelletier and Terry Winkelmann will discuss their trip to Turin, Italy for Slow Food International's biannual meeting. From 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is free.

Tuesday (Nov. 18):

Tuesday Tasting @ Remy's Kitchen & Wine Bar

This month's tasting pairs three wines with a dinner from chef Lisa Slay. Start with smoked almond-encrusted fried oysters with sweet and sour dipping sauce paired with Pine Ridge 2012 Chenin Blanc/Viognier. For the second course, the Forefront 2012 Pinot Noir is paired with a roasted mushroom, caramelized onion and roasted walnut flatbread. Last is grilled tri tip with radish slaw remoulade and pistachios paired with Boneshaker 2012 Zinfandel. From 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $38 per person; call 314-726-5757 for reservations or make them here.

Wednesday (Nov. 19):

Opening @ Cantina Laredo

Clayton's latest is a Mexican restaurant with a "sophisticated atmosphere." The Mexico City-style menu features everything from fresh guacamole to carnitas in a chipotle wine sauce and carne asada. Celebrity Chef Series: The Holiday Roast with Michael Ruhlman @ the Restaurant at the Cheshire

The Celebrity Chef Series continues with James Beard award-winning chef Michael Ruhlman. The night will start with a meet and greet with drinks and hors d'oeuvres, followed by a seated, five-course dinner. There will also be cooking demos, cookbook signings and a Q&A. Reservations are required and are available on OpenTable or by calling 314-932-7818. From 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets start at $85 per person.

Thursday (Nov. 20):

Kathy Wakile Cookbook Signing @ L'Ecole Culinaire

If there's one thing reality stars are good at, it's cooking. Maybe not, but if you're into that sort of thing, Real Housewives of New Jersey cast memeber Kathy Wakile will be signing her new cookbook, Indulge: Delicious Little Desserts That Keep Life Real Sweet. Wakile apparently earned an honorary degree from L'Ecole and is in some of its commercials. There will also be a holiday open house with "holiday treats from around the world." From 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is free, cookbooks will be available for purchase.
