The Bleeding Deacon Closes Temporarily, Possibly to Relocate

Rumors swirled on Twitter and Facebook over the weekend that the Bleeding Deacon Public House (4123 Chippewa Street; 314-772-1813) would close after business yesterday, November 27. Gabe Hartwig of the Post-Dispatch even tweeted confirmation of the news by a Bleeding Deacon employee.

However, general manager Mike McLaughlin posted the following on the restaurant's Facebook page:
truth is, we may be closing for longer than we hoped, but this is not a forever thing, we may be moving to a new location, just sooner and more disorganized than i thought it would.
Attempts to reach the restaurant -- including its new sibling, The Crow's Nest (7336 Manchester Road, Maplewood; 314-781-0889) -- for further details have so far been unsuccessful. More as I learn it. After the jump, the complete message from the Bleeding Deacon's Facebook page.

hey everyone, horses mouth: sorry about the rumor mill/social networking ridiculousness. truth is, we may be closing for longer than we hoped, but this is not a forever thing, we may be moving to a new location, just sooner and more disorganized than i thought it would. these are all issues behind the scenes and have NOTHING to do with our lovely guests OR our fabulous staff. i honestly dunno if w...e will re-open at the chippewa spot, but i truly hope to, and i want to thank everyone for their continued support and love. it is reciprocated and appreciated. I promise to keep this updated over then next few days. Looks like we are opening @ 3 today now, so i hope you all make it in.. btw, almost all of your favorite staff will be with us at the crows nest in the meantime if you want to see them/us...-mikey
