There are two kinds of people in St. Louis the night before Thanksgiving: those who go out drinking and those who don't (quite possibly because they don't want to encounter their former high school classmates). If you happen to fall into the first of those two categories, Major Brands Inc. has a deal for you — one aimed at getting your drunk self home safely, for free.

The St. Louis-based company, which stands as the state's biggest family-owned distributor of premium spirits, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks, is offering free rides home on Thanksgiving Eve. All you have to do is attend an event  November 15 at either Westport Social (910 W Port Plaza Drive) or the Webster Groves location of Llywelyn’s Pub (17 W. Moody, Webster Groves) to get a free Lyft voucher, which is good for one ride on November 22.

It's all part of Major Brands' Safe Home After Every Occasion program, which partners with Lyft and wine and spirits company Beam Suntory to encourage responsible consumption and ride planning prior to when the drinks start flowing. The November 15 events, which will feature the "Safe Home Squad," will also include giveaways and info on planning a ride home before socializing.

The fun goes down at Westport Social on November 15 from 4 to 6 p.m., while the Llywelyn's Pub event will take place that evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The ride vouchers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while they last.

“At Major Brands, we continue to build our business by building the communities we serve. In our business, promoting responsible consumption is the most important thing we can do and we take our role very seriously," Major Brands CEO Sue McCollum stated in a press release. "We wouldn’t exist without the support of our customers so we encourage everyone to get home safely.”

And if you're the type of St. Louisan who avoids going out Thanksgiving Eve for fear of reliving your teen years? Here are the St. Louis bars where you won't see a soul from high school. You're welcome.
