Three for Three: 5.2-5.4

Gut Check recommends three ways you won't go hungry this weekend.

1. Cinco de Mayo is Monday, but the big party takes place tomorrow on one of Gut Check's favorite streets, Cherokee: food, music, arts and crafts and maybe -- just maybe -- a drink or two. Visit the party's official Web site for all the details.

Even more Cinco de Mayo-related fun after the jump...

2. Of course, you don't have to look hard to find great Mexican food on Cherokee Street. Need a refresher? In this 2007 review I visit La Vallesana and Taqueria el Bronco, while in this 2006 review I check out Garduño's and Taqueria el Torito.

3. Want to celebrate with Mexican food, but can't get to Cherokee? Here are a few of my favorite Mexican spots in town: Señor Pique (14870 Manchester Road), Las Palmas (4030 Woodson Road), Lily's (4601 South Kingshighway) and Mi Ranchito (887 Kingsland Avenue).

That's all for this week. Next Week: A Thai restaurant that haunts my dreams -- for a very unusual reason.

Have a great weekend. Eat something good.
