I suppose there will come a point when St. Louis has too many barbecue joints. Frankly, though, I find that difficult to imagine.
Joining the fray soon will be Vernon's BBQ & Catering at 6707 Vernon Avenue at the intersection of Vernon and Kingsland Avenue in University City, just north of the Delmar Loop.
A reader tipped me off to Vernon's a few weeks ago, and the signs have gone up on its location just within the past few days. As you can see from the photo above, the space -- which was most recently an outlet store for Good Works Furniture in the Delmar Loop -- will retain its garage bay doors, which looks pretty cool.
Interior work appears to be ongoing. Vernon's does have a website, though it's barebones at the moment. We've reached out to the owner (or an owner) for more info. We'll share more when learn it.
