REMINDER: Voting ends at midnight! The voting is very close -- any of the three finalists could win. If you haven't voted yet, do!
With ten semifinalists from which to choose -- plus an option to write in a different choice -- I wasn't sure any burger, let alone three, would clearly separate itself from the pack in the first round of our poll for St. Louis' Most Underrated Burger.
I was wrong.
Of the ten burgers listed, three each gained over 15% of all votes cast, making them the runaway finalists.
Each of the ten semifinalists received at least a few votes, but the gap between the third-place burger and the fourth choice was ten percentage points.
More than a few of you selected the write-in option. Among the restaurants to receive more than one write-in vote for their burgers were West End Grill & Pub (354 North Boyle Avenue; 314-531-4670), Sub Zero Vodka Bar (308 North Euclid Avenue; 314-367-1200) and Liluma (236 North Euclid Avenue; 314-361-7771).
Duly noted for the 2013 edition of this poll. For 2012, the three finalists for St. Louis' Most Underrated Burger are these:
Dressel's (419 North Euclid Avenue; 314-361-1060) Michael's Bar & Grill (7101 Manchester Avenue; 314-644-2240) Veritas Gateway to Food and Wine (1722 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield; 636-530-9505)
Voting will be open through the end of the day next Wednesday, May 30. On Thursday, May 31, will announce your pick for St. Louis' Most Underrated Burger.
