Gut Check readers gave us several new dives to check out this spring. The more passionate the comments, the better, and the winner of this week's poll had the most vocal fan base by far. Over the years, we've named it the best North County bar, one of the ten best juke boxes in St. Louis and it's one of the few places in the county where you can still smoke.

Your pick for St. Louis' most underrated dive bar is Charlack Pub (8334 Lackland Road, Overland; 314-423-8119) with 55.59 percent of the vote.

The biker bar is the kind of place you can go by yourself and make friends, and regulars consider owners John and Judy Breeding family. Local and out-of-town bands play for drinkers at small tables, and the drink prices won't break the bank.

Colorado Bob's Ship of Fools (3457 Morganford Road; 314-772-7564) came in second place, and Iowa Buffet (2727 Winnebago Street; 314-776-8000) was the most popular write-in answer.
