Small Plates: Thursday, 7/26

The first hour of yesterday's Diane Rehm Show (heard locally on KWMU, 90.7 FM) featured a discussion of the farm bill currently being debated before Congress and its impact on farmers as well as every day consumers. Most interesting -- and most depressing -- to me was one expert's observation that the agricultural issue affecting most people right now (the rise of food prices due to increased demand for corn for ethanol) won't be dealt with until the next farm bill comes up five years from now. You can listen to the archived broadcast here.
