President Bush's proposed 2009 budget would increase funding for food-safety programs at the FDA -- but experts say the increase isn't nearly enough. (USA Today)

Wal-Mart will require many of its food suppliers to meet Global Food Safety Initiative standards, which are more stringent than FDA standards. (Reuters)
