First, an apology: In
this week's Gut Check column in the dead-tree
Riverfront Times, I screwed up the dates for the first annual
St. Louis Craft Beer Week. Events begin
this Saturday, May 30, not last Saturday, as the column had it. My sincere apologies to
Mike Sweeney and everyone else who's organizing this series of events.
OK, so, Craft Beer Week kicks off, for real,
this Saturday, with three events: The
Beer and Brats Festival from noon-5 p.m. at Westport Plaza; B33R and Brats from noon-5 p.m. at
33 Wine Shop & Tasting Bar; and Wine-Beer-BBQ, a tasting event from 1-4 p.m. at the Ballwin location of the
Wine & Cheese Place.
Craft Beer Week continues Sunday with "Homebrew with Drew," a homebrewing demo with
Mattingly Brewing Co. head brewer and award-winning homebrewer Drew Huerter. Brewing starts at 9 a.m.
For the complete list of Craft Beer Week events, visit the
official Web site. And be sure to pick up next week's issue of the
RFT for my feature article on the craft-beer scene in St. Louis.
