The good news? The only May closing (of which Gut Check is aware) is actually a holdover from April.

The bad news? This month also saw the temporary closing of Gut Check favorite Monarch, as the restaurant renovates and reworks its bar menu.

Openings include The Wood (pictured right), which took over the Deluxe Fine Food & Spirits space in Maplewood, and yet another ice cream parlor at the intersection of South Grand and Arsenal. The full list after the jump.

The Haus Pizzeria & Bar, 14815 Clayton Road, Chesterfield

Mr. Harry's Carnival Foods, 15581 Manchester Road, Ballwin
