Yesterday we looked at the crazy amount of junk food advertising during World Cup broadcasts in host country South Africa. But when the locals aren't falling prey to marketing, what area they eating? The National takes a look at South African cuisine.

Flaming drinks are good, clean fun, right? Just don't purposefully light the bar on fire. The New York Times reports that hip Chinatown bar Apotheke was infiltrated by three undercover fire marshals who arrested co-owner Albert Trummer after he poured liquor on the bar and lit it into a 15-foot by 6-foot wall of flame - a regular event at the establishment. He said, "My intention was not to hurt anybody. I'm an artist. I'm a mixologoist. I'm a cook. But I'm not a pyrotechnic maniac."
