Pi 2 Go Opens in Chesterfield, and St. Louis Mourns the Best Restaurant That Never Was

So, yeah, Pi 2 Go is now open at 14870 Clayton Road in Chesterfield. As the name implies, the latest outpost of Pi's ever-expanding cornmeal-crust empire is carryout-only.

Why is Gut Check so meh about the news? Because it means that Armadillo Joe's Tex-Mex & Taxidermy is not to be. For weeks now we've looked forward to stuffing our faces with fajitas  -- and stuffing our late, beloved pet hamster, Provel, period.

OK, so Armadillo Joe's was always a hoax -- a way for Chris Sommers, Frank Uible and the Pi team to go about the nitty-gritty of getting their restaurant up and running with minimal intrusion. And it was an inspired hoax, including a pitch-perfect Armadillo Joe's website.

(All kidding aside, half the new restaurants in town don't bother throwing up a site even half as rudimentary as Armadillo Joe's!)

Pi 2 Go will be open for dinner only through Sunday, August 22. Hours are 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 5-9 p.m. Sunday. (But not this Sunday, August 15, when it will be closed.) Pi 2 Go will open for lunch beginning Monday, August 23.
